Ciklum is looking for a Senior Data Science Engineer to join our team full-time in Ukraine. About the role: As a Senior Data Science Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. In this position you will proactively generating innovative ideas, crafting compelling business cases, and skillfully pitching them to key stakeholders. Dive deep into data to unearth valuable insights and translate them into actionable recommendations. You'll excel in communicating these insights to diverse audiences through both verbal presentations and visualizations. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define and implement success metrics, ensuring alignment with product objectives and stakeholder needs. Then you will take charge of developing and implementing machine learning models, ensuring they are not only accurate but also scalable and reliable for generating predictions efficiently. You'll collaborate closely with our Machine Learning Engineers to deploy, maintain, and enhance these models, ensuring they meet our high standards for performance. Your role will involve working with real-time data, seamlessly integrating it into our machine learning frameworks. Additionally, you'll collaborate with Developers and Operations Research Scientists, empowering them to utilise our predictions effectively to drive maximum impact in our operations. Finally, you will play a pivotal role in our team by fostering collaboration among peers. You'll work closely with fellow data scientists to establish and implement best practices, share insights, and provide constructive feedback on each other's projects. Your expertise and leadership skills will be instrumental as you mentor junior team members, guiding them through their projects and helping them develop their skills. Responsibilities: Development of prototype solutions, mathematical models, algorithms, machine learning techniques, and robust analytics to support analytic insights and visualization of complex data sets Work on exploratory data analysis so you can navigate a dataset and come out with broad conclusions based on initial appraisals Provide optimization recommendations that drive KPIs established by product, marketing, operations, PR teams, and others Interacts with engineering teams and ensures that solutions meet customer requirements in terms of functionality, performance, availability, scalability, and reliability Work directly with business analysts and data engineers to understand and support their use cases Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions Drive innovation by exploring new experimentation methods and statistical techniques that could sharpen or speed up our product decision-making processes Cross-trains other team members on technologies being developed, while also continuously learning new technologies from other team members Contribute to unit’s activities and community building, participate in conferences, and provide excellence in exercise and best practices Requirements: 5+ years of development of Data Science solutions Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field Proven ability to relate and solve business problems through machine learning and statistics 4+ years of applying various machine learning techniques: regression, classification, clustering, dimensional reduction, time series prediction, and/or outlier detection, recommendation systems Understanding of machine learning algorithms as well as their usage constraints including performance 4+ years of experience in Python development of machine learning solutions and statistical analysis: Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, and/or statsmodels, imbalanced-learn libraries Experience diving into data to consider hidden patterns and conducting error analysis 2+ years experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker and Python libraries like Matplotlib and Seaborn) Experience with SQL for data processing, data manipulation, sampling, reporting 3+ years experience creating/maintaining of OOP Machine Learning solutions Understanding of CRISP-ML(Q) / TDSP concept 1+ year of experience with MLOps: integration of reliable Machine Learning Pipelines in Production, Docker, containerization, orchestration 2+ years of experience with Clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Clouds AI And ML Services(e.g. Amazon Sage Maker, Azure ML) Personal skills: Hard skills: Advanced proficiency in data science and machine learning methodologies, with extensive experience applying these techniques in production environments Proven experience in getting models to production, scaling, and maintaining them for long-term success Python (scikit-learn, pandas, seaborn, etc.) in notebooks and pure Python code for production, and strong proficiency in SQL Strong understanding of software development best practices, including testing, git, code reviews, and model lifecycle management Working with Docker containers to support reproducible and scalable environments Experience with real-time data integration and machine learning frameworks Basic understanding of mathematical optimization is required Experience with real time inference and stream processing is required Soft skills: Leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior data scientists and foster team collaboration A holistic project approach, from generating business cases to managing the full lifecycle of models Ability to generate innovative ideas, test hypotheses rigorously, and pitch business cases to stakeholders Critical analysis of approaches, assumptions, and business impact, with the ability to challenge and refine strategies for optimal results Preference for simple, scalable, and effective solutions, particularly in complex projects Expertise in agile environments with strong collaborative skills, particularly in cross-functional teams Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex data insights and machine learning concepts to a wide range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical What`s in it for you?
