Summary Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers. Job Description Responsibilities Develop leading edge predictive models on data from multiple insurance companies Perform all functions required to build and evaluate models end to end including: Data Preparation External data research and acquisition Data profiling and harmonization across carriers Feature development NLP/ML modeling Model validation and interpretation Business value assessment and product pricing analyses Additional work assignments not related to specific project work such as new feature development, external data research, providing user feedback on new products and tools under development At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes. Qualifications Bachelors degree Deep Python experience for feature engineering and statistical modeling, experience with Sagemaker preferred Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing predictive models for claims Expert SQL skills ACAS or CSPA preferred, but will consider near ACAS statisticians and data scientists with appropriate work experience. 2-6 years of experience in an actuarial or data science role role in the US or Canadian P&C industry either with a carrier or consulting firm Experience with P&C policy administration and claims processing concepts Passion for solving complex data problems Experience working with Guidewire ClaimCenter and/or PolicyCenter data preferred Experience and skill in communicating insights to both technical and non-technical personnel at all levels of the organization Strong customer orientation and ability support sales conversations with customers Ability to plan and carry out projects with minimal direction, yet a team player Self-motivated and detail-oriented Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your role as well as use data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.
