Job Description We are seeking an experienced Sr Data Scientist with advanced forecasting expertise to join the Data Science & AI team at the LEGO Group. This role demands strong technical proficiency in time series and machine learning models, coupled with the ability to translate data insights into strategic business narratives that drive decision-making. The content of this role will involve operational forecast delivery, along with efforts to improve accuracy, analyze results, and drive innovation. We do not finance relocation for this role. Core Responsibilities In this role, you will: Manage operational forecasts: Ensure the continuous production and monitoring of forecasts used by LEGO demand planners worldwide, maintaining stability and reliability in operations. Enhance forecasting models: Design, test, and implement improvements to current models to increase accuracy and adoption. Engage strategically with partners: Collaborate with senior demand planners and other budiness partners to increase adoption of our forecasts and enable strategic data-driven decision-making. Analyse and interpret forecast performance: Identify patterns in data, evaluate results, and provide clear narratives on drivers, outcomes, and business implications. Bridge business and data science: Serve as a translator between technical outputs and business needs, ensuring partners understand and trust forecasts. Contribute to scalable solutions: Support the development and deployment of forecasting workflows in production within Databricks, ensuring scalability and robustness. Do you have what it takes? Minimum 5 years’ experience in forecasting, with direct application of time series and ML models. Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and Databricks (or equivalent platforms). Proven ability to translate complex technical analyses into strategic business insights through clear communication and data storytelling. Experience balancing continuous operational delivery with model innovation and improvement. Strong analytical approach with exceptional attention to detail and data quality. Nice to have Background in demand forecasting, supply chain, retail, or other forecasting environments. Experience with MLOps practices and scalable model deployment. Experience with Pyspark Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
