Job Description The organization operates high-voltage grids and is responsible for developing and maintaining the network, enabling access for users, and regulating energy flows. It plays a critical role in supporting and implementing Europe’s energy and climate policy. The Grid Development – Power System Planning team defines medium-term investments in the transmission grid to accommodate future evolutions (new power plants, renewable penetration, changing consumption patterns) while maintaining safety and reliability. The team also evaluates connection requests from new or existing grid users through simulations of grid behavior. The mission involves creating an integrated tool based on existing and new scripts within a simulation environment to automate grid model preparation for connection requests—a process currently done manually. Qualifications Strong experience in Python programming 6+ years of experience with Python-driven industrial software Background in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physical Sciences Excellent English proficiency; basic knowledge of French and/or Dutch Ability to handle large datasets efficiently Modular programming skills adaptable to changing needs Experience in profiling and optimizing scripts Code documentation skills Knowledge of electricity or power systems (grid structure, generation/consumption localization, load flow, etc.) Additional Information Work regime: Full-time Location: Brussels area Onsite presence: 2 days per week required For non-EU candidates working in Belgium: Must have a valid work permit Must hold a valid residence permit
