JOB SUMMARY

NS&I are excited to be recruiting for a Senior Data Scientist.
In this role you will work independently on ongoing and new Data Science projects ranging from pricing analytics, predictive modelling, segmentation, topic modelling and insight automation to discovery work with existing and new structured and unstructured data sources.
To work within a network of data professionals that use data from NS&I’s vast data landscape to generate insight that helps stakeholders with decision making.
To ensure that high quality Data Science outputs are provided to stakeholders, setting standards for work produced in the team.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Degree qualification in numerate and / or statistical subject.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

We’ll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • You will be presented with a publicly available data set and required to undertake a task and present your results, this will be followed by a Q&A based on your presentation - for candidates who pass the 1st interview round.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead on further developing and maintaining NS&I’s automated reporting pipeline including optimisation and quality assurance of existing code base
  • Lead on predictive modelling projects, including maintaining existing models and developing additional ones from scratch
  • Maintain and further develop existing pricing analytics solutions including underlying models as well as web applications for end users
  • Lead on maintenance and development of product segmentation models
  • Lead on existing and new complex data projects that involve assuring and further developing their code bases
  • Lead on data projects that involve developing automated data pipelines and web applications
  • Take ownership of your data learning journey at NS&I to become an established expert on all data sources your projects are based on
  • Lead on data discovery projects that involve understanding and onboarding new data sources, so they are ready to use by the Business Intelligence & Data Science Team and the wider business
