REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, Business/Commerce, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
  • 3+ years of experience in BI development leveraging Microsoft SQL Server (expert in T-SQL)
  • 5+ years of experience in SSIS and use of Stored Procedures
  • 2+ years of experience in Power BI
  • Experience ingesting and aggregating data from internal and external sources to build data warehouses
  • Strong understanding of data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical model design, including Operational Data Stores, Enterprise Data Warehouses, and Data Marts)
  • Deep understanding of relational database design concepts and SQL programming
  • Experience guiding/mentoring developers with lesser experience
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong experience with business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of experience in Azure Data Warehouse (Synapse)
  • 1-2 years of experience in Azure Data Factory, SQL VMs, building and maintaining ETL, and Data Lakes
  • Experience with Source Version Control software like GitHub and CICD pipelines

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our team as a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer and play a vital role in turning data into actionable insights. You’ll work closely with internal customers, prospects, and stakeholders to understand business needs and transform them into effective data integration solutions. Your expertise in data warehousing, business intelligence, and Microsoft technologies will be key to designing and maintaining our data infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with internal customers, prospects, and stakeholders to understand business use cases and requirements
  • Translate business needs into data analysis, data mapping, and data integration routines, including moving, cleansing, and transforming large datasets across multiple systems
  • Identify data sources, create data flow diagrams, and document source-to-target mapping and processes
  • Collaborate with the Data Architect to recommend optimal data models for data ingestion and support BI developers in creating analytic reports
  • Provide technical enablement to team members developing database applications on-premise or in the cloud
  • Design, implement, and maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes, etc.) and database security
  • Work with data stewards, data owners, and domain experts to adopt best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation
  • Maintain data warehouse performance by optimizing batch processing through parallelization and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with the Data Architect to establish processes for governing educational metadata, ensuring accuracy and validity in BI environments
  • Ensure data quality through audit controls, proactive monitoring, and data cleansing techniques
  • Perform scheduled data process integrity checks, manage deployments, and coordinate releases
  • Provide on-call support after hours as needed
