Job Description: Database Administrator (Oracle, SQL & Multi‑Platform) Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Oracle, SQL Server, and other database platforms to manage, optimize, and secure our enterprise data systems. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of databases while supporting business applications and development teams. Key Responsibilities Database Management Install, configure, and maintain Oracle, SQL Server, and other DB platforms (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.). Perform upgrades, patches, and migrations across environments. Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies. Data Security & Compliance Implement and maintain database security policies, user access controls, and encryption standards. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX). Backup & Recovery Design and manage backup/recovery strategies. Perform disaster recovery planning and testing. Performance Optimization Analyze query performance and optimize SQL code. Configure indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies. Collaboration & Support Work closely with developers to design efficient schemas and queries. Provide production support and troubleshoot database issues. Document processes, standards, and best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of experience as a DBA with Oracle and SQL Server. Strong knowledge of relational database design, normalization, and indexing. Proficiency in SQL scripting, PL/SQL, and T‑SQL. Experience with database monitoring tools (OEM, SQL Profiler, etc.). Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud). Preferred Skills Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra). Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform). Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Soft Skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
