EIS is a multi-cloud support company. AWS, Azure, and IBM are Public Cloud Hosting providers EIS uses for the deployment of the Insurance platform. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, troubleshooting, and supporting our cloud-based database systems. You will ensure the performance, availability, and security of our databases in a cloud environment, such as AWS, Azure and IBM.
Database Administrator is cooperating with other engineers: Cloud Engineers, CICD engineers, Developers, QAs, Cloud and Application Architects, Project Managers

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on cloud-based databases and cloud platforms.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in managing databases on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
  • Experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
  • Experience with database migration and integration processes.
  • Experience with Linux OS administration.
  • Experience with DB replication, Disaster Recovery and Database load testing.
  • Good understanding of internet routing protocols.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Certifications: Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are highly desirable
Responsibilities
  • Database Management: Administer and maintain cloud-based database systems, including but not limited to AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL Flexible server, Azure SQL Managed instance, IBM Database, and Google Cloud SQL.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, analyze slow queries, suggest query optimizations, and optimize database performance using best practices on cloud based configurations for maximum efficiency and speed.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Security: Implement and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
  • High Availability: Design and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using cloud provider services to ensure continuous database operations.
  • Migration: Plan and execute database migrations to and from cloud environments with minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.
  • Automation: Develop and implement scripts and automation tools for routine database administration tasks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to support database-related application development, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of database configurations, procedures, and processes.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to database management and security.
