Job Summary: The Senior DBA position will be responsible for maintaining Generac Power Systems Inc. database systems (primarily MS SQL Server) including back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring critical events and documentation. To ensure efficient and high availability of Generac’s enterprise business applications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- 7 years working in Information Technologies.
- 5 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL server databases.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
- Experience with ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) development / data integration.
- Experience working on one or more of the following databases: Oracle, SQL Server and/or SAP HANA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient with tools for monitoring and troubleshooting database activity and performance.
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Design and implement HA/DR Solutions using AlwaysOn, WFC and Replication.
- Experience and/or knowledge of cloud database solutions and services. (Azure, AWS, GCP), specifically familiar with Azure SQL and deep understanding of MS SQL Server.
- Experience in creating and running Powershell scripts.
- Ability to serve as the business modeler / data analyst for data projects and initiatives, creating conceptual and logical business models used to generate physical data models and database schema.
- Ability to Identify and document current and future state of data architecture.
- Ability to Research, promote and develop data architecture best practices.
- Working knowledge of compliance audit requirements (example: SOX, PCI, GDPR, CFR21 Part 11, HIPAA, ISO9001).
