Job Description Join our DevOps Engineering team as a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing our cloud-based database platforms. This hands-on role focuses on performance, reliability, and automation across AWS RDS (Oracle and PostgreSQL) environments. You’ll collaborate closely with DevOps and Product Engineering to ensure scalable, compliant, and resilient data operations supporting business-critical applications. Key Responsibilities: Database Administration & Operations Administer, monitor, and maintain AWS RDS instances for Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. Ensure high availability, replication, and disaster recovery configurations across environments. Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and index analysis to improve system efficiency. Manage backup/recovery strategies and support ongoing operational health of production systems. Automation & Infrastructure Implement and maintain database infrastructure as code using Terraform. Collaborate with DevOps and software engineers to integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines. Standardize deployment and configuration processes to enhance reliability and consistency. Security & Compliance Enforce data access controls, encryption standards, and compliance policies. Monitor and remediate vulnerabilities, ensuring database security and governance alignment. Partner with Security, DevOps, and compliance teams to maintain audit readiness and data integrity. Collaboration & Support Work closely with Product Engineering on schema design, migrations, and deployment readiness. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews. Provide technical mentorship and cross-functional support to engineering and DevOps teams. Qualifications Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator in production environments. Strong expertise in AWS RDS, Oracle, and PostgreSQL administration. Proficient in SQL, query performance tuning, and execution plan analysis. Experience with Terraform and cloud automation best practices. Solid understanding of replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies. Skilled in monitoring, logging, and alerting for proactive issue resolution.
