SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

Location: Washington, DC (On-Site) Proposal Effort
Clearance Requirement: Active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one through a government background investigation
Salary Range: $125,000 to $139,500

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Database Administrator to provide Data Management and Administration Support for a federal government program. This role offers the opportunity to directly support critical data initiatives that strengthen government operations.

DESIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Certifications in MS Azure, Linux, or database administration.
  • IT security certifications.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps architecture.
  • Leadership experience (ability to direct and guide others in projects).

Responsibilities

This position will support our government client in managing and administering databases by performing work assignments that include:

  • Model logical and physical data for enterprise database management systems.
  • Improve performance through indexing, denormalization, and fine-tuning.
  • Develop data warehouses and marts to meet specialized data needs.
  • Enforce naming standards and manage detailed database logs.
  • Perform backups, archiving, and restorations to ensure continuity and data protection.
  • Write and maintain stored procedures and work closely with developers to ensure secure database access.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for database governance, collaborating with technical teams to support mission success.
  • Assists to design and build relational databases for data storage or processing.
  • Develop strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery.
  • Cleans and maintains the database by removing and deleting old data.
  • May evaluate new data sources for adherence to the organization’s quality standards and ease of integration.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works under general supervision.
