Chevo is hiring an experienced Senior Database Architect to join our expanding firm. This position provides the opportunity for significant client interaction by learning the client’s business by becoming a trusted advisor. This role will support modernization efforts across United States Coast Guard (USCG) systems including Financial Systems Modernization Solution (FSMS), Naval and Electronics Supply Support System (NESSS), Procurement Request Information System Management (PRISM), and Fleet Logistics System (FLS), ensuring data integrity, interoperability, and performance across mission-critical platforms. Ideal candidates will demonstrate versatility in understanding and performing work related to designing modern data architectures, normalize, cleanse and govern data and ensure compliance.
This position is hybrid with at least one day a week at the USCG client located at 2401 Hawkins Point Rd, Baltimore, MD

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise systems integration
  • Experience with cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Active Public Trust or ability to obtain one

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard or another DHS component
  • Familiarity with DHS systems and USCG platforms such as FSMS, PRISM, NESSS, and FLS.

Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain scalable, secure, and interoperable data architecture across legacy and modernized systems.
  • Lead data integration efforts between FSMS and external systems.
  • Develop and maintain data models, metadata repositories, and data dictionaries.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and system owners to define data requirements and governance standards.
  • Support data migration, cleansing, and transformation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal data standards, including Section 508 and DHS IT governance.
  • Provide technical leadership on data strategy, analytics enablement, and reporting optimization.
  • Ensure all solutions and services meet DHS and USCG Enterprise Architecture policies, standards, and procedures. Specifically, the Homeland Security Enterprise Architecture (HLS EA).
