He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role We are looking for an experienced Senior Delivery Lead to join our Digital team, based in Newmarket, Auckland. This role is responsible for leading the successful delivery of large digital projects, programmes, or scaled Agile teams across Watercare. You will bring strong structure, leadership and delivery discipline, drawing on Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches to suit the needs of each initiative. You’ll take end‑to‑end accountability for delivery, providing clear governance, prudent financial management, and timely, accurate reporting to enable informed decision‑making. Working closely with senior stakeholders, suppliers and cross‑functional teams, you’ll ensure outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently and with maximum value for Watercare. Ngā kawenga matua | Key Responsibilities In this role you will: Lead the definition, planning and delivery of large and complex digital projects and programmes Provide delivery leadership across multiple initiatives, including scaled Agile squads Develop and contribute to business cases, shaping delivery approach and the case for change Maintain strong project controls including scope, change, risk and quality management Identify, assess and proactively manage delivery risks and issues Lead vendor engagement, including development and management of Statements of Work Produce clear, timely reporting, including Agile delivery metrics suited to different audiences Provide strong leadership, balancing directive and servant leadership as required Manage delivery teams through change, resolving conflict and maintaining clarity of priorities Develop and manage project budgets, monitoring spend across opex and capital Ensure strong commercial outcomes and value for money in contracts and delivery decisions Support continuous improvement, challenging traditional ways of working and embracing new approaches Build trusted, long‑term relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a single point of contact Uphold Watercare’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing commitments at all times Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you You are an experienced delivery leader who thrives in complex, fast‑paced digital environments. You bring a strong understanding of delivery frameworks, excellent leadership capability, and the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and lead teams through change.
