JOB SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Senior Delivery Manager to join our Delivery Group function within the Digital & Technology group.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 7-8 Wellington Place, Leeds, LS1 4AP. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. We are open to requests for flexible working. Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment.
We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.
This role also attracts an allowance of up to £5,000 per annum based on assessment of skills and experience. This allowance is non-pensionable and may change on an annual basis.

Responsibilities

WHAT’S THE ROLE?

You will play a critical role in championing, coaching, and embedding Agile and Lean practices within the Agency.
You will lead the delivery of complex innovative digital products and services through management of several multi-disciplinary teams at Programme or Project level.
You will play a key role in ensuring that we develop and maintain a strong Delivery Management capability through coaching, mentoring, and training, and ensuring that the Delivery Managers have stretching and rewarding workloads to support their personal development.
You will be accountable for effective delivery of complex, high-risk products and services. Strong focus on delivering value for customers, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills will be essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represent and champion the role within the Agency, across government and in industry.
  • Build and maintain motivated multi-disciplinary teams, making sure there is an iterative plan to work towards.
  • Support professional development and continuous improvement through coaching and mentorship.
  • Lead, mentor and inspire Delivery Managers within the team to understand how to achieve the goals of the team, wider Agency, and achieve effective cross-functional delivery.
  • Confidently communicate the value of the role to digital and non-digital stakeholders.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with a range of external stakeholders, partners, vendors, and business and technical stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Understand the importance of user-centric approaches and build those into Supplier Delivery plans

Certain roles within the MHRA will require post holders to have vaccinations, and in some circumstances, routine health surveillance. These roles include:

  • Laboratory-based roles working directly with known pathogens
  • Maintenance roles, particularly those required to work in laboratory settings
  • Roles that involve visiting other establishments where vaccination is required
  • Roles required to travel overseas where specific vaccination may be required
