SENIOR DERIVATIVES ANALYST:

On behalf of our financial services client, Procom is searching for a Senior Derivatives Analyst for a six-month role. This position is remote for our Edmonton-based client.

SENIOR DERIVATIVES ANALYST - JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Derivatives Analyst will join the Derivatives Operations team to focus on enhancing derivatives operations and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role involves collaborating with internal and external teams to develop processes and provide recommendations, contributing to business models, and implementing applications.

SENIOR DERIVATIVES ANALYST - MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Experience in Derivatives Operations or a similar role.
  • Advanced knowledge of over-the-counter and cleared derivatives.
  • Ability to interpret and apply existing and emerging regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

SENIOR DERIVATIVES ANALYST – NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with various types of investment products, particularly complex derivative investments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to devise processes and propose recommendations.
  • Provide operational support, maintenance, and training when introducing a new business model or process.
  • Analyze derivative contracts and their effects the client concerning risk, profitability, and process.
  • Work alongside internal and external legal counsel to develop new agreements or amendments.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of over-the-counter and cleared derivatives to support and advise on operational processes.
  • Analyze current procedures to address system defects and identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions that capitalize on these efficiencies while adhering to and improving current internal controls.
