ABOUT THE ROLE:

Seatransport are seeking to employ a full-time Senior Design Draftsperson with marine shipbuilding and structural experience. You will work as a part of a small design team on all aspects of a new vessel design from concept to delivery for a diverse range of commercial marine projects.
This position is located on the Gold Coast.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

· Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for vessels, structural components, and mechanical systems.
· Collaborate with naval architects and engineers to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
· Review and interpret project specifications, design briefs, and technical documentation.
· Assist in the preparation of design documentation, including assembly instructions, material specifications, and bill of materials (BOM).
· Perform design revisions and updates based on feedback from the engineering team and client requirements.
· Ensure all drawings and designs adhere to relevant industry codes, regulations, and standards.
· Mentor junior designers and drafts people and work experience candidates and provide guidance on best practices.
