Description
Description MRA is not looking for a CAD drafter. We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer who can take the reins of our fabrication shop and lead the structural realization of high-end, mobile immersive environments. Think of this as "Architecture in Motion." Our projects are essentially custom-designed small homes and high-tech brand activations on wheels. We need a leader who can design the "bones" and the "beauty," then walk onto the shop floor and lead a team of expert fabricators to bring it to life. The Mission: Lead the Build This is a high-responsibility leadership role. You aren't just drawing parts; you are managing the full production cycle of complex, custom builds. You will be the design authority for our peer-level production & fabrication teams, not interns. Take Control: Own the transition from creative concept to structural reality. Shop Leadership: Be the "boots-on-the-ground" leader who answers the tough questions at the weld table and talks through the prints in real-time. Speed & Precision: We move fast. You must produce accurate, build-ready structural drawings with a quick turnaround. What We Are Looking For Structural Mindset: You have experience in Design-Build, Exhibit Construction, or Custom Architecture. You understand how things stand up, fold out, and travel down a highway. Leadership of Peers: You have a proven track record of leading seasoned industrial designers, project managers & fabrication teams. You speak their language and earn their respect through technical competence. Workflow Mastery: You are process-driven. You don't just "draw"; you manage the workflow, ensure material accuracy, and hit every deadline. Creative Engineering: You can find the "how" behind a "wow" design. You aren't afraid of custom cabinetry, complex hydraulics, or integrated tech. Key Responsibilities Lead the production of full construction drawing sets (BOMs, cut sheets, and assembly details). Directly manage the fabrication workflow, ensuring shop teams are aligned with the technical intent. Bridge the gap between "sketch" and "structure"—ensuring all mobile units are road-ready and structurally sound. Maintain a relentless focus on accuracy; in our world, a 1/4-inch error is a major problem. Requirements Qualifications Experience: 7+ years in Experiential Design, Custom Fabrication, or Exhibit Construction. No "Desk-Only" Applicants: You must have significant experience working directly in or with a fabrication shop. Technical Tools: Mastery of SolidWorks, Rhino, or AutoCAD is required. Education: Background in Industrial Design, Architecture, or Structural Engineering is highly preferred. Why MRA? We build the coolest spaces on the road. From luxury mobile suites to massive brand takeovers, your work will be the foundation of a nationwide tour. We offer a fast-paced, high-energy environment where your leadership directly impacts the final product.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is leading the production of full construction drawing sets, including BOMs and assembly details, while directly managing the fabrication workflow to ensure shop teams align with the technical intent. This role bridges the gap between creative concept and structural reality, ensuring all mobile units are road-ready and structurally sound.
