Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Senior Design Engineer on the Hydradig platform, you’ll play a key role in driving forward new product introduction (NPI) programmes. You’ll be responsible for leading design activities, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring technical excellence throughout the development process. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges, contribute to future product roadmaps, and support the needs of a global customer base. You’ll be involved in everything from concept design to manufacturing readiness, applying your expertise to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that support JCB’s commitment to sustainability and performance.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE INVOLVE DAY TO DAY?

  • Lead engineering activity on Hydradig new product introduction (NPI) programmes.
  • Manage design and drawing release, technical specifications, and support development and DVPSOR activities.
  • Coordinate project tracking and team collaboration across UK and Indian Design Centres.
  • Work cross-functionally with colleagues to deliver projects and support global customer needs.
  • Take ownership of module and subsystem development—from concept through to manufacture.
  • Conduct and commission engineering analysis, including FEA, cooling calculations, and mechanical stability assessments.
  • Apply DFMEA and 8D problem-solving tools to drive quality and reliability.
  • Use departmental systems and tools such as CAD, PLM, and ePCM effectively.
  • Contribute to product roadmap planning and idea generation for future technologies and sustainability goals.
