Founded in Berlin, autarc is a 25+ person start-up who have just graduated from the Y Combinator in San Francisco. Our team consists of people in Sales, Tech and Operations, with the Engineering department currently 9 people and looking to grow to 15 by Q3 2025.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3-5+ years of experience working for multiple start-ups
• Direct involvement in building SaaS products
• Experience with TypeScript, React, TailwindCSS, Webflow, Storybook
• Experience with Design tools such as Figma
• Familiarity with cloud databases such as Postgres (Supabase) is a nice to have
• Experience with Docker, GitHub and fly.io is a nice to have
• Based in Berlin with a willingness to work hybrid (office in Mitte)
• Fluent in English (German is a plus)

ABOUT US

Right now, 25% of CO2 emissions in Europe are caused by heating our buildings. In order for this to be reduced, the transition towards renewable energy needs to be simplified and made more accessible. There are too few installers to meet the growing demand for heat pumps, and a solution to match this trend needs to be brought to the market.
autarc is developing the leading operating system (OS) for heat pump installers, enabling a more digital and efficient installation process for heat pumps.
Through this, autarc is reducing the hurdles to decarbonizing single-family homes and small apartment buildings in Europe, with the goal to help with the planning and designing of 1 million heat pumps by 2030

You will be working alongside the CEO, CTO and other Engineers to help design and improve the core product, with a specific focus on the user interface and user experience. As we have several squads building out the Heat Pump, Solar, Mobility and ERP products, we need to work on things such as a flawless brand experience, when using our software in your day to day life as a craftsman person. You will act as a connecting link between the design team, which consists of four designers, and our software squads.
This work will mostly consist of building UI widgets and improving existing interfaces to reach full design consistency. Further, you will make sure our design system is aligned with our live software.

As a Senior within the team, you will be responsible for leading Engineering initiatives and be in charge of some heavy UI lifting. Other responsibilities will include:

• Focusing on flawless Frontend designs and UI
• Interacting with the Design team to improve UX
• Be hands-on in designing, coding and testing cycles for both existing and new features
• Building and maintaining our website (Webflow)
• Develop B2B SaaS applications
• Have a high level of responsibility to turn ideas into performant and reliable code

The role is fully Frontend-focused, with large elements of Design interaction.
