SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER
Nature and Scope
United Gulf is a Halifax-based development company responsible for the planning, construction & development of projects ranging from commercial plazas to high-rise mixed-use developments with residential, commercial, and retail tenants, to traditional apartment. The development, construction, and operation of all projects is managed internally by our team of experienced professionals.
The Senior Design Engineer leads our development team and external consultant teams to ensure that projects in the front end of our development pipeline are properly scaled, designed, managed, and supported through to the construction and commissioning phases.
Duties & Responsibilities
CONTINUOUS LEARNING
Stay abreast of industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in municipal design and layout. Participate in professional development activities, attend seminars, and seek opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is an initiative-taker with a bias toward action. We are looking for an Engineer with the following qualifications;
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
· Proven expertise with zoning and subdivision regulations.
· Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
· Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, including grading, drainage, utility design, and roadway design.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges.
· Experience in project management, people management, and organizational skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
The following are requirements of the position;
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
· Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada.
· Experience (7-10 years) in Civil Engineering, with a focus on subdivision layout, road design, service design, and development projects.
