Hybrid, In Site/ Remote (Design Center Mexicali)
As a key member of the Projects Team, the Senior Design & Engineering Manager will lead the departments and team of successful design, engineering, and permitting of projects ranging from homeowner ADUs to ground-up infill developments in California and beyond
. This role involves
Building, training, and managing a team capable of creating a high volume of design documents and building permit acquisitions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors in Architecture or Engineering, or 4+ years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of building codes, permitting, project costs, and contracts.
• Strong design process understanding and team management experience.
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.

SKILLS:

• Revit (preferred) or AutoCAD
• Experience with BIM 360, GIS, and Procore
• Familiarity with IBC and related codes.
• Knowledge of architectural or civil engineering principles.
• Experience designing and permitting solar and/or battery storage systems.

• Build and manage a domestic/overseas, internal/consultant/outsourced hybrid team of design, engineering, and permitting professionals.
• Define project-specific due diligence requirements.
• Develop/procure digital tools for efficient design and permitting in a wide variety of jurisdictions
• Create and maintain drawing templates and design standards.
• Oversee construction administration
• Implement continuous improvement processes.
• Design cost-effective, prefabrication-friendly construction details.
