ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Design Manager who can work confidently across complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You will bring:

  • Degree in an Architectural or Engineering discipline (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).
  • Chartered status
  • 5+ years’ experience in design management, with exposure to multiple sectors and procurement routes.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end design management, from concept to handover.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, adaptability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all design information is delivered on time, to the required quality, and in line with contractual obligations. Working closely with senior leaders, project teams, and external partners, you will help to drive design from early concept through to construction and handover.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of project delivery, ensuring design outputs are fully coordinated, compliant, and optimised for buildability, safety, and sustainability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the review, control, and distribution of design information across all project stages.
  • Support compliance with design management procedures and contractual obligations.
  • Oversee the delivery of design outputs with consideration for programme, buildability, safety, maintenance, and technical suitability.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external designers to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Support construction and handover activities, including technical queries, quality assurance, and documentation.
  • Report on design progress and contribute to design reviews and risk management processes.
