REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS (POSITION SPECIFIC):
Candidate must demonstrate 10 years work experience as an Electrical Designer, including experience with Equipment Layout, Grounding, Raceway Layout, Lighting Systems, and Schematics, Connection and Wiring Diagrams. Significant experience using 2D-Microstation and Hexagon’s S3D software, is required. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Census Codes and Standards for electrical design such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA. Candidate must have the ability to produce quality documents with attention to detail.
Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Area Security Access: Clearance “Q”
Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE / NNSA.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years is preferred.
Provide 2D-Microstation and 3D-S3D Electrical Designer staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis; 2D drawing development utilizing MicroStation and 3D Modeling using Hexagon’s S3D software; design development, and generation of design output documents. Prepare, review, and approve design change forms, disposition nonconformance reports, review vendor documents and incorporate into 2D drawings and 3D models, and resolve construction issues.
Design services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
Work Hours: A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10’s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80’s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
