Sioux develops and produces state-of-the-art technology for the top end of the international high-tech community. Examples include a complex lithography machine, a compact electron microscope, a smart home automation system or an electric self-charging car. We raise the bar high and we often achieve the impossible. We do so together, as a team of enthusiastic electronics, software, mechanics, mechatronics and mathematics specialists.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • You have a BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanics.
  • You have at least 10 years of relevant experience in machine and equipment development and realization projects, where you have preferably worked for a number of years in both a development (Design&Engineering) environment and in an operational (NPI, manufacturing) environment.
  • You have thorough theoretical knowledge of and practical experience with Design for eXcellence (DFX: cost, manufacturability, assembly, service, etc) and value engineering and you keep this knowledge up to date.
  • You have skills in and affinity with the design of precision mechanics and precision systems.
  • You have proficiency in and affinity with defining and implementing (DFX) processes, working methods and templates. You know how to embed this expertise in the organization.
  • You are creative and skilled in coming up with solutions based on multidisciplinary concepts.
  • You have 3D CAD experience.
  • You are creative, highly driven and are a strong communicator.
  • You know how to transfer your knowledge effectively and thus coach others in the field of DFX.
Responsibilities
  • You actively participate in development projects and define requirements, concepts and design solutions form the DFX perspective. You will interact with architects, designers and engineers to get this job done.
  • You will seek interaction with the NPI colleagues from Sioux Assembly, our own manufacturing company, and with our external suppliers.
  • You actively propagate the knowledge area of DFX within the Sioux organization.
  • You define and implement the processes, practices and templates that ensure that DFX is anchored in the culture and effectively included throughout the design process.
  • You secure DFX and strive for Best-Practice design.
