Job Title: Senior Developer - Drupal Department: Office of Innovation and Transformation Division: Office of Information Technology Section: IT Application Services Grade: Above Grade 12 Basic Functions: Leads the implementation, modernization, and continuous enhancement of the AUB and AUBMC institutional web platforms on Drupal. Plays a key leading role in architecting, developing, integrating, securing, and optimizing enterprise-grade Drupal solutions supporting the university and medical center’s digital presence. The role requires strong technical expertise in Drupal architecture and development, combined with leadership, stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, and digital transformation capabilities.   1.      Duties Performed: * Leads the end-to-end implementation and technical delivery of the AUB and AUBMC Drupal web platforms. * Defines and maintains the overall Drupal architecture, development standards, deployment strategies, and governance framework. * Develops and maintains custom Drupal modules, themes, APIs, and integrations. * Leads integrations between Drupal and enterprise systems including IAM, SSO, ERP, analytics, and APIs. * Ensures platform scalability, cybersecurity, performance optimization, disaster recovery, and operational continuity. * Implements CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and technical governance standards. * Ensures compliance with accessibility standards and institutional policies. * Collaborates with the Office of Communications and stakeholders on UX, content workflows, and publishing governance. * Leads technical planning, sprint execution, vendor coordination, and release management. * Performs other related duties as requested.   2.      Work Contacts: Works closely with the Office of Communications, Marketing team, colleagues at the Office of Information Technology, and external vendors to ensure scalable, secure, accessible, and modern web experiences aligned with institutional objectives. 3.      Independence of Operation: Reports to the IT Academic and Applications Services Director. Works according to well-established policies and procedures.   4.      Supervisory Responsibility: None.       5.      Physical Effort: Minimal.       6.      Work Conditions: Clean and pleasant.   7.      Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. * Minimum 5 years of hands-on Drupal development experience or a related work experience. * Proven experience leading enterprise Drupal implementations and large-scale web platforms. * Experience with Drupal 9/10 architecture and migration projects. * Experience in higher education, healthcare, or large enterprise environments is highly desirable. * Advanced expertise in Drupal architecture, custom module development, theming, APIs, and multisite architecture. * Strong PHP and Symfony development experience. * Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, MySQL/MariaDB, and caching technologies. * Strong frontend skills including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Twig, and responsive design. * Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Linux environments, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure. * Experience with SSO, OAuth2, SAML, Azure Entra ID, LDAP, and enterprise integrations. * Excellent command of English.
