About the Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) function, provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. About You
Working as part of the Student Experience Portfolio within the ITS Architecture and Software Engineering group, the Senior PeopleSoft Developer is actively involved in enhancing the RMIT Student Management Administration System and integration with core systems across the university for management of the student journey.

The Senior PeopleSoft Developer has technical expertise in PeopleSoft application development. Using the suite of PeopleTools technologies, they are responsible for the design and development of technical solutions that meet the requirements of the business, whilst adhering to stringent technical standards. The PeopleSoft Developer will have:

  • a thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle as applied in a large and complex organisation.
  • advanced development and troubleshooting skills
  • the competency to analyse, design, build, test and support customisations, integrations, processes and reports in the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2 application.

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Extensive PeopleSoft development experience using PeopleTools. This includes (but is not limited to) PeopleCode, Application Engine, BI Publisher, Integration Broker, and Component Interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering within the Software Development Lifecycle through analysis, design, development, testing, release and deployment, documentation, and application support.
  • Enterprise class database knowledge (eg. PL/SQL on Oracle), ideally with a background in PeopleSoft.
  • Extensive experience in developing and providing support services to high quality integrated business systems using a variety of tools such as Integration Broker to deliver Restful and SOAP Web Services.
  • Experience with Fluid in PeopleSoft 9.2 applications (preferably Campus Solutions).
  • Knowledge of migration tools such as PHIRE Architect and experience in applying/retrofitting customisations.
  • Substantial experience in debugging or troubleshooting complex problems while providing effective progress communications and fault escalation procedures.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Proven track record of conducting technical peer reviews and contributing to development standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills; proven ability to write quality technical documentation and the proven ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines as a productive team member.
