Description

We’re excited to share that JDRF Canada is now Breakthrough T1D.
We’re the same organization, with the same mission and determination to realize a world free from type 1 diabetes (T1D) – just with a new name and look that reflects what the T1D community needs now and next.
It’s an exciting time to join Breakthrough T1D as we continue to break barriers to help people better manage the disease and enjoy full, healthy lives. Curing T1D is and always will be our north star and we will not stop until breakthroughs get us to a world free from T1D.
Breakthrough T1D is searching for an experienced fundraising professional for the role of Senior Development Officer, Eastern Canada.
If you’re a strategic, relationship-driven, and goal-oriented fundraising professional who would like to drive regional fundraising efforts and deepen donor engagement primarily in Montreal and Ottawa, please read on to see if this is the right fit for you.

Here’s what your primary responsibilities would be:

  • Implement fundraising best practices to exceed revenue and participation targets for peer-to-peer events like the Walk to Cure Diabetes and Ride to Defeat Diabetes.
  • Collaborate with the Development Manager, Eastern Canada to strategize and execute regional fundraising plans.
  • Inspire, motivate, and engage event participants to maximize fundraising success.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including event participants, corporate contacts, volunteers, and community influencers.
  • Engage newly diagnosed families by providing resources and promoting regional fundraising events.
  • Balance stewardship of current participants with recruitment of new fundraisers.
  • Maintain detailed records of donor and participant interactions using CRM and other systems.
  • Work closely with corporate partnerships and event experience teams to support overall event goals.
  • Represent Breakthrough T1D at special events and community activities to promote the mission and fundraising initiatives.
  • Manage a portfolio of annual, monthly, and mid-level donors through all stages of cultivation and stewardship to meet revenue targets.
  • Support third-party (Fundraise Your Way) event organizers and fundraisers.
  • Solicit and steward regional revenue through corporate partnerships, foundation giving, sponsorships, and leadership giving.
