Job Duties and Responsibilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in telecom-related product launch and support
  • 2-3+ years of experience in 4G & 5G system design and product development for smartphones, feature phones, tablets, hotspots, and IOT devices throughout the product life cycle
  • 2+ years of experience in cellular product network certification on network-specific configurations (e.g. DNN/APN, eSIM), network features testing (e.g. RF conformance and parametric testing, VoNR, RCS, iMessage, Facetime, RCS, roaming) and OSS/BSS integration

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven success leading large-scale, cross-functional projects with deep knowledge of product processes including certification, hardware, front-end, data, and reporting; skilled in roadmapping, collaboration, and managing multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong understanding of 4G/5G systems, including NB-IoT, NB-NTN, IMS, VoLTE, WiFi Calling, and end-to-end call flows across EPS and 5GC; proficient in networking concepts like Ethernet and TCP/IP.
  • In-depth knowledge of wireless systems (OFDM, MIMO), signal processing algorithms (e.g., timing recovery, RF impairment correction), and strong familiarity with 3GPP, GSMA, PTCRB, CTIA, and security certifications (e.g., NIAP, FIPS 140-2/3, DISA).
  • Hands-on experience with device/SIM activation, VAS, provisioning, and management for MVNO/MNO environments; knowledgeable in MDM configurations across Android/iOS; experienced in lab testing, modem validation, and debugging.
  • Skilled in tools such as QXDM, QCAT, PCAT, Accuver (XCAL/XCAP), Keysight, Rhode & Schwarz; experienced in test automation and scripting using Python and command-line interfaces; open to 10–20% travel for testing, vendor engagement, and debugging.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute product management processes, align platform strategy, and support intake, prioritization, and lifecycle activities from research to Go-to-Market.
  • Develop and document technical requirements, PRDs, device test plans, and feature capabilities (e.g., eSIM, iSIM, VoNR, VoLTE, VoWiFi, 5G) in partnership with OEMs and engineering teams.
  • Design and implement PHY transceiver algorithms and MAC layer procedures for LTE/5G direct-to-device (D2D) communications.
  • Perform link budget analyses for LTE and 5G systems between satellite and user equipment (UE), ensuring performance and feasibility.
  • Support 3GPP standardization initiatives and collaborate with Product, Core, IT, and RAN teams to align the NTN device roadmap with network system requirements.
