The Reserve Bank of Australia are hiring for a Senior DevOps Engineer on a 2 Year Fixed Term Contract. In this role, you will be a part of the Banking Systems team and part of the broader Information Technology department. This position will provide you with the opportunity to work and collaborate with developers, platform engineers and other DevOps engineers within the team.
As Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be aligned closely working on a program that will transform Australia’s payment system.
About the role
- Work collaboratively to implement DevOps requirements for Banking Systems.
- Participate and contribute to sprint planning and backlog grooming with Product Owner, Project Manager as a SME.
- Manage delivery of critical enhancements by working with vendor engineering team on platform level updates and perform configuration/development items which are maintained internally.
- Perform systems analysis and design of target state and testing tasks to ensure that systems are in line with defined acceptance criteria.
- Ensure that development standards are maintained and participate in code reviews.
- Automate and optimise software development processes.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
About you
- Demonstrated knowledge of emerging technologies and ability to provide SME advice.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of agile framework practices (Scrum).
- Demonstrated experience on working collaboratively with vendors and platform engineering.
- Demonstrated up-to-date knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery practices and tools, including Git and Azure DevOps Services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cloud services, such as AKS, ACR, Key Vault.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cloud security best practices and tools.
- Demonstrated experience in SDLC across a range of complex systems and relevant DevOps programming languages (YAML, PowerShell, Terraform).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Java build tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with good teamwork capabilities.
