We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to work in a newly formed Platform Team to manage our Google Cloud Platform, provide DevOps capabilities to the rest of the Engineering teams and help develop a FinOps culture in Freetrade.
You will…
- Own and manage our Google Cloud infrastructure, working with the engineering teams to ensure our services are deployed on the most appropriate cloud systems and make recommendations on appropriate technology choices.
- Own and manage our monitoring and diagnostics. You will work with the engineering teams to ensure we have best in class observability, alerting, SLOs and cost attribution for our software stack.
- Own and manage the CI/CD infrastructure for our products.
- Deliver against challenging technical problems, weighing trade-offs to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions quickly.
- Establish and maintain a high bar of best practice on FinOps, Infra as code, PaaS.
- Own and manage dashboards for tracking operational performance metrics of the platform, such as platform cost per user, per transaction, base costs.
- Influences team and engineering roadmaps and strategy
- Writes and maintains documentation on the developer operations and platform spaces.
About you:
- A track record of working with Google Cloud and cloud native technologies.
- Knowledge of containerisation using Docker and experience managing deployed services in Kubernetes clusters.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and experience of using Terraform or an equivalent.
- Knowledge of any scripting language (Javascript, Python, Ruby etc.) and experience of identifying and exploiting automation opportunities.
- Deep understanding and obsession with the details.
- A love for the world of investments.
- Up to date with technology to influence good practices.
- Experience of running platforms that deliver high performance at scale suitable for B2C products
- Experience of running highly resilient platforms, where reliability and graceful degradation is critical.
