Primary Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain vendor software products on Unix/Linux systems Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability Implement and manage monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance Develop and maintain scripts to automate system tasks Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations and procedures Provide technical support and guidance to users and other administrators Be able to monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree Experience of supporting vendor applications (BigFix, TWS Agent Support, IBM Tivoli Monitoring or Netcool Suite, preferably IBM Tivoli) Exposure in managing Unix/Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, and patching Skills in a scripting language such as Python and Shell. Experience with other programming languages like C, Java or Perl can be beneficial Experience with updating vendor certificates Knowledge of security best practices and tools to ensure system integrity and data protection Familiarity with configuration management tools Understanding of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, SSL, SSH) Proven solid analytical and problem-solving abilities Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and other stakeholders Proven high attention to detail to ensure system reliability and security Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other IT professionals Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), CompTIA Linux+, or similar Working knowledge on Cloud technologies Knowledge for BigFix Relevance language, Knowledge using Chef At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
