Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Leeds.
Our client is seeking a talented Senior DevOps Engineer to join their Segments and Propositions Platform, where you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our digital services. This is a chance to be part of the groundbreaking innovation we’re delivering to millions of customers.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer within their platform, you’ll collaborate across engineering, operations and product teams to develop, support and enhance our tools and processes for Continuous Integration, automated testing, and release management. You’ll contribute directly to improving agility, system reliability, and development quality across their platforms.
DevOps at our client’s organisation is not just a function, but a mindset. You’ll play a key part in driving this cultural shift, embedding DevOps principles and agile ways of working across the platform. You’ll have the freedom to explore, suggest and implement best practices that enable scale and continuous improvement.
You’ll bring a contextual understanding of DevOps practices—explaining not just how to use the tools, but why they matter, what business value they deliver, and how they can evolve to support a changing technology landscape.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and support robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines
  • Lead the evolution of our DevOps tooling and practices across teams
  • Provide operational support for applications in cloud environments, including incident resolution, performance tuning, and optimisation
  • Promote agile and DevOps principles throughout the engineering community
  • Mentor and support the development of more junior engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions in an agile environment
  • Continuously look for opportunities to automate, improve, and innovate
