Description

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Senior DevOps Engineer in Marketing Data Science team works in a cross-functional team that includes Infrastructure Automation Engineers, Developers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers.
This role is responsible for ensuring our tooling and processors are an enabler for positive organisational agility. Specifically this role is to drive up competency for the entire Product Group throughout its understanding and application of good practices throughout the Software Delivery Lifecycle via pipelines and accepted paths to Production.

Responsibilities

OUR PURPOSE

At Xero, we’re here to help you supercharge your business. We do this by automating routine tasks, surfacing actionable insights and connecting businesses with the right data, advisors and apps. When that happens, we’re not only making life better for small business, we’ll be building a stronger economy that can change the world.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    • Designing and evolving our core platform infrastructure to support marketing data products and applications, primarily on AWS, using Terraform.

    • Developing and enhancing integrations between different platforms and AI tools to ensure the right information is available for the people that need it.
    • Building and maintaining robust, automated CI/CD pipelines that empower our Data Engineering and Data Scientist teams to confidently and efficiently deploy their solutions.
    • Collaborating closely with stakeholders like our Data Engineering and Data Scientist teams, understanding their needs, and translating them into scalable, secure platform solutions.
    • Implementing and championing data security best practices across the platform, ensuring our data assets are protected.
    • Providing expert guidance and mentorship to drive up platform competency and promote best practices across the wider product group.

    • You’re more than just a coder; you’re a platform visionary with a passion for data and innovation. With 5-10 years of solid experience under your belt, you’ve got the battle scars to prove you’ve been around a bit and know how to get things done. You’ve likely thrived in a DevOps or SRE capability, consistently building CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure for other teams, moving beyond just an “execution” role.
