Description

The Pepperstone story started in 2010. We know what it’s like to trade the world’s markets. Our team describes us as a place for the curious and the driven, and we like to do things a little differently; as a transformative global fintech, we’re digital, nimble, connected, and united in our vision to create a better way to trade.
We thrive on progress – for our clients and for ourselves. Our organizational culture is ever-evolving, vibrant, diverse, global, and results-focused. You’ll find our 550+ team currently across 11 locations and 9 time zones.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Payment team, the Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable solutions that enhance payment workflows.
You will collaborate closely with development teams across the organisation to identify pain points and create self-service solutions, tools, and automation that simplify infrastructure management, CI/CD pipelines, and development environments. Your focus will be on driving consistency, reliability, and ease of use across the engineering ecosystem while advocating for best practices and continuous improvement in developer workflows. Your contributions will play a key role in enabling engineers to focus on delivering high-quality software faster and more efficiently.

As our Senior DevOps Engineer, your key responsibilities include:

  • Establish robust quality and automation best practices, tooling, and processes.
  • Create documentation and resources for engineers to leverage those tools effectively.
  • Work closely with Technical Leadership to plan and prioritise developer experience focused initiatives.
  • Assist teams with hands-on training and delivery as part of their team as a secondment when implementing engineering platforms.
  • Design, build, test, and support self-service platforms and tooling for development teams across the organisation.
  • Develop a robust, automated, and Continuous Delivery practice within the team, prioritising rapid feedback loops.
  • Develop high-quality, timely solutions collaboratively with the team and members throughout the engineering function across various technologies.
  • Lead technical projects, including architecture and design decisions, code reviews/pairing, and mentoring of junior team members.
  • Assist with technical problem solving and provide technical guidance to other engineers and teams across the organisation on ways to improve, uplift and complement their developer experience.
  • Contribute to the improvement of software development lifecycle processes
  • Participate in and, at times, facilitating Engineering Dojos and other ceremonies.
