Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Container Platform Engineer plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining a robust containerised platform that supports over 40 product teams, 250 business product team engineers, and 4,000 running container workloads. This role involves facilitating and supporting the migration of existing products and applications to Red Hat OpenShift on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The engineer works closely with business product team engineers to ensure smooth transitions, optimize containerised environments, and maintain platform performance and reliability. By managing and supporting container workloads, the Container Platform Engineer helps ensure the seamless deployment, scaling, and operation of business-critical applications across the organisation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, implement, and manage containerised Kubernetes environments.
  • Maintain and optimize container platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Implement automation for deployment, scaling, and management of containerized workloads.
  • Integrate container platforms into existing DevOps practices.
  • Work with security teams to ensure platforms comply with organisational security policies and implement security best practices for containerised environments.
  • Monitor the health and performance of platform and orchestrated services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to containers, networking, storage, and performance.
  • Collaborate with product teams to understand their needs, optimize workflows, and provide support and troubleshooting assistance to both development and operations teams.
