OVERVIEW

Data Eaver is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Specialist to support multiple projects (2–3 concurrently) for a high-profile client in the public sector. This individual will lead OpenShift operations, drive infrastructure modernization initiatives, and ensure platform scalability, security, and reliability across both on-prem and cloud environments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in technical problem-solving, research, and analysis
  • 2+ years of experience with stakeholder engagement and vendor coordination
  • 5+ years of experience managing Azure Red Hat OpenShift clusters
  • 5+ years of experience managing on-prem Red Hat OpenShift clusters
  • 7+ years of experience designing monitoring and alerting systems for production environments
  • 7+ years of experience documenting technical architecture, decisions, and operational procedures
  • 5+ years of experience with BuildMaster configuration and workflows
  • 5+ years of experience leading OpenShift infrastructure projects (expansions, rebuilds, migrations)
  • 3+ years of experience managing release readiness and incident response
  • 2+ years of experience providing Azure cloud consultancy and operational support
  • 5+ years of experience with secrets management and enforcing least privilege access
  • 7+ years of experience with CLI tools for system navigation and execution
  • 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
  • 7+ years of experience using networking tools (DNS lookups, trace routes, load balancing)
  • 3+ years of experience in compliance-heavy environments (e.g., NIST, DoD, PCI-DSS)
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage OpenShift platform operations (on-prem and Azure Red Hat OpenShift)
  • Architect and execute large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., cluster rebuilds, expansions, migrations)
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure platform reliability and scalability
  • Develop automation tools and CI/CD pipelines to support platform and application teams
  • Monitor and optimize cluster health, performance, and capacity across environments
  • Implement security best practices, including RBAC, encryption, and regular patching
  • Automate provisioning, scaling, and updates using tools like Ansible, Helm, and Terraform
  • Design and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform and application issues in a timely manner
  • Build custom scripts and dashboards for improved observability and operational efficiency
  • Provide Level 1 operational support and participate in incident response and production readiness reviews
  • Promote DevOps best practices across development and operations teams
  • Support cloud operations and infrastructure governance on Azure
  • Maintain and upgrade BuildMaster workflows and deployments
  • Provide support for other container-based DevOps solutions, including GitHub ARC
