Security Requirement: · A SECRET security clearance is required. Roles and Responsibilities: Mechanics shall be capable of performing all levels of repairs on automotive, heavy truck and construction equipment both in the shop or field with no supervision. Understand and follow all regulations related to safety, handling hazardous materials, and facility access. Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs identified during initial inspections and as per the guidance recommended by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and/or the NAVFAC P-300. Conduct mandated 120 calendar day cycle for completing general maintenance and safety inspections on each piece of equipment. Schedule all equipment for service every 120 calendar days or sooner in the event the vehicle accumulates high mileage within the normal service cycle. Manage inventory list of equipment by Shop Location, Equipment Identification Number, Make, Model, Year, type of fuel and current mileage. Pick up vehicles requiring service from a location designated by the Government’s Transportation Officer for each respective Shop Location. Perform maintenance and repair to Government owned equipment with total numbers varying by +/-5% during the performance period. Conduct scheduled maintenance in three specific levels identified as “A”, “B”, and “C” based on mileage or time. Standard vehicle safety inspections shall be completed as a specific task on every scheduled maintenance Shop Repair Order (SRO). Conduct direct liaison with the government to discuss access to equipment, maintenance schedules, and use of Government furnished equipment (GFE) if provided. Perform welding, metal forming, sheet metal work, minor body, and fender repairs.? Provide maintenance and repair on ground support equipment such as, but not limited to, off-road utility vehicles, golf carts, lawn mowers, pressure washers, tree and brush trimming equipment, generators, compressors, hydraulic attachments and other small portable engine powered tools used to support grounds maintenance work. Requirements: Must possess a valid state driver’s license from their state of residency to operate motor vehicles. Have a minimum of six (6) years’ experience as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) mechanic at truck tractor dealership, commercial fleet service shop, intermediate or depot level military maintenance facility or have E7 – E8 level military experience with diesel engines over 400 hp or Civil Engineering Support Equipment. Possess a Master Mechanic Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in medium-heavy trucks or military tactical wheeled vehicles or completing of a “C” level military technical school. ASE requirement can be waived with five years of experience as a Depot Level Shop lead Mechanic or Supervisor. Be able to use Asset Works LLC software “Fleet Focus” to record maintenance actions, track time and document parts ordered and installed. Must have the ability to fix all tactical, expeditionary, and non-tactical equipment in the shop; provide expert input on maintenance issues; and provide oversight to less experienced personnel. Shall be available during standard business hours to address issues and workflow.?
