About the role Mater Dietetics and Food Services and the Obstetric Medicine Service are seeking a Dietitian – Diabetes Educator to join our team, working across the South Brisbane and Springfield campuses. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to the Diabetes in Pregnancy Service, delivering combined dietetic care and diabetes education for women at Mater Mothers’ Hospital. Salary range: $66.58 - $71.64 per hour plus superannuation [https://www.ato.gov.au/tax-rates-and-codes/key-superannuation-rates-and-thresholds/super-guarantee] and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 [https://account.smartsalary.com.au/benefits-available?ercode=MML]  + access to many staff benefits!  [https://www.mater.org.au/group/careers/working-with-mater] What you’ll be doing Responsibilities include: * Supporting women through the gestational diabetes model of care. * Providing dietetic expertise within antenatal and preconception clinics, supporting women’s nutrition throughout their pregnancy journey. Take ownership of a complex caseload, using evidence-based practice and independent clinical judgement to guide care. * Contribute to the design and implementation of protocols, resources, and models of care that enhance service delivery locally and state-wide. * Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to drive innovation in diabetes in pregnancy and maternal nutrition services. * Provide expert clinical advice to supervisors, service managers, and key stakeholders to guide service delivery and improvement * Support workforce capability by contributing to competency development, training, mentoring, and change management initiatives, including sustaining the Dietitian–Diabetes Educator model of care. * Maintain and extend professional expertise through self-directed learning, professional development opportunities, mentoring and participation in the Dietitians Australia APD and Diabetes Educator programs * Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and external partners, contributing actively to case conferences, departmental, and interprofessional meetings.
