Are you a highly technical digital marketer with a passion for both strategy and hands-on execution? What Works Global is looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Lead to join our dynamic team in Canberra (hybrid/remote options available).
This is a key role where you’ll own and scale our clients’ marketing strategies. You’ll be responsible for driving measurable growth across a diverse portfolio, from paid search and social to advanced analytics and conversion rate optimisation (CRO). What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead with Data: Develop, implement, and optimise holistic digital marketing strategies that deliver clear ROI for our clients.
  • Be the Expert: Manage and optimise complex paid campaigns across platforms like Google Ads, Meta, and others, focusing on advanced targeting, bidding strategies, and audience segmentation.
  • Build the Foundation: Take ownership of tracking, tagging, and analytics implementation. This includes creating and managing GTM containers, building custom tags and triggers, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Analyse & Innovate: Use tools like Looker Studio (or similar platforms) to build and maintain insightful dashboards. Deep dive into performance data to uncover insights, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Mentor & Grow: Lead, mentor, and train a team of talented digital marketing specialists, fostering their technical skills and professional growth.
  • Collaborate Seamlessly: Partner with our content, creative, and development teams to build cohesive, high-performing campaigns and assets.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously monitor industry trends, platform updates, and new technologies (e.g., GA4, AI-driven tools) to keep our strategies cutting-edge.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a senior digital marketing role, with a proven track record of managing significant budgets and driving growth.
  • Technical Mastery:
  • Expert-level knowledge of Google Tag Manager (GTM), including custom tag and variable creation.
  • Deep proficiency in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), including custom events, conversions, and advanced reporting.
  • Advanced skills in Google Ads and Meta Ads, with experience in managing complex campaign structures, audience strategies, and performance-based optimisations.
  • Analytical Prowess:
  • Fluent in data visualisation and reporting tools, specifically Looker Studio.
  • Strong ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Leadership & Communication:
  • Proven experience leading, training, and mentoring a team.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills to effectively manage client relationships and internal teams.
  • Certifications: Current Google and Meta certifications are a must.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
