AT BATH & NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL WE HAVE ONE OVERRIDING PURPOSE TO IMPROVE PEOPLE’S LIVES.
We are advertising an exciting new position within the busy and fast paced Social Care Payments Team to job share the position of Senior Direct Payment Officer.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Social Care Payments Team make payments to providers and carers on behalf of our Children’s and Adults Social Care Teams. These payments include both services commissioned by the Council and Direct Payments. Each area of specialism has a Senior Finance Officer in place to oversee the payments.
The position we are recruiting for sits within our Direct Payment Team. As individuals can use a direct payment to choose and arrange their own care, this promotes greater choice, control, and independence and this type of service is therefore becoming more popular amongst our residents. To ensure we can keep up with this increased workload, as well as offer a pre-paid card solution to our residents, we are seeking to recruit a part time Senior Direct Payment Officer to job share with the existing post holder. The successful candidate would need to work closely with the existing post holder, and together they would have responsibility for the final approval of payments, the auditing, monitoring and reporting of Council spend, as well as the line management of two Direct Payment Officers.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ROLE IS SUBJECT TO A BASIC DBS CHECK.
Please note the Council operates a policy of prior consideration for roles for any individual on the Council’s at-risk register. This means should a redeployee express an interest in this role, providing they meet the essential criteria for the role they will be considered.
