Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Director of Colocation and Connectivity to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for CME Colocation and Connectivity products and services, maintaining existing products and supporting the development and implementation of new products and services. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director of Colocation and Connectivity and will be based at either our New York City or Chicago locations. Key Responsibilities Strong knowledge of financial customers and markets, data center services and operations, and low latency communication technologies. The selected candidate will be responsible for the proper operation of CME colocation and connectivity business ensuring that our facility and networks are providing fair and equal access to our market participants. Knowledge of product development, including pricing, promotion, sales, operations and documentation. Knowledge of budgets and demand for services. Ability to analyze data, forecast customer and service demands, and make recommendations. Respond to day-to-day product requests and questions. Candidates will collaborate with several different groups; Data Center Engineering, Network Solutions Group, Legal, Marketing, Finance, Implementation, Sales, Procurement and senior management. CME is undergoing a technology transformation moving its matching engines into a Google private cloud. A new data center is being built with a new customer colocation facility. The successful candidate will be involved with colocation and networking decisions as the new facility comes on line. Qualifications Required Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree. 10 Years of experience dealing with financial markets and customers, experience with data center and IP based communication systems either as a provider, product developer, or purchaser of these services. Candidates are required to be proficient in analyzing, forecasting, documenting, presenting and gaining approval for products and projects. The candidate will be required to use software tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Workday, Jira, Smartsheets, Python and AI tools. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data center and or networking issues into terms laypeople can understand and make informed decisions. Preferred Deeper understanding of financial markets/customers and or data center operations / engineering, and or low latency networking is a plus. The pay ranges for this role based on location are: Chicago: $156,200-$260,400 New York/New Jersey: $171,800-$286,400. Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
