JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director of Corporate Strategy plays a crucial role within the Corporate Strategy team, reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). This position is instrumental in defining and guiding the organization’s long-term strategic vision. By integrating forward-looking market insights with practical strategy development and enterprise planning, the Senior Director will also oversee initiatives related to inorganic growth, including mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. Collaborating closely with functional and regional leaders, as well as the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), this role is essential in positioning the company to proactively respond to technological advancements, leverage emerging market opportunities, and maintain a sustainable competitive advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Experience
15+ years of experience in technology or digital infrastructure (data centers, cloud platforms, fiber/edge, or related tech) focused strategy at a data center/digital infrastructure, technology firm or management consulting firm preferred Bachelors’ degree required; preferred disciplines in Computer
Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent Familiarity with digital infrastructure and AI/ML compute trends, networking technology, sustainability tech (renewables, fuel cells), regulatory shifts (data sovereignty, energy policy) Experience in growth strategy for data centers, industry / segment marketing, competitor intelligence / market scan, commercial optimization would be directly applicable Preferred experience operating across at least two of North America, EMEA, and APAC; comfort with differing regulatory and customer landscapes. Deep fluency in market modelling (capacity, demand, price curves), scenario planning, financial and investment analysis Passion and aptitude for analytical rigor and creating an independent point of view, an ability to multitask, high standards of excellence and a desire to ‘get things done’

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 194,000 - 290,000 CAD / Annual
United States - Dallas Field Office : 230,000 - 346,000 USD / Annual
United States - Redwood City Office GHQ : 250,000 - 374,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.

Responsibilities

Strategic Insight & Market Intelligence

  • Evolving Customer Needs: Continuously monitor and analyze shifts in enterprise and hyperscale customer requirements related to AI workloads, latency, security, and sustainability; translate these insights into actionable strategies for product development and market positioning
  • Technology trends and competitor moves: Develop and maintain a dynamic intelligence framework to identify disruptive technologies, pricing strategies, partnership opportunities, and regulatory changes across various time horizons; present findings in concise briefs for senior leadership
  • Market Modeling & Competitive Analysis: Oversee global supply-demand models for various markets, maintaining detailed insights into capacity, absorption rates, and pricing trends; benchmark competition and track evolving customer preferences to inform strategic decisions

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Corporate & Portfolio Strategy: Lead the annual and multi-year strategic planning process, focusing on capital allocation, strategic priorities, and identifying key investment opportunities; evaluate buy, build, and partner options to support growth initiatives
  • Prioritization Facilitation: Provide the Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Leadership Team with data-driven recommendations that balance growth potential, risk, and capital efficiency, guiding strategic decisions on investments and partnerships
  • Board Engagement: Develop comprehensive materials for board meetings and facilitate strategic off-sites with senior leadership to align on corporate priorities and initiatives

Agile Response & Adaptation

  • External Intelligence Monitoring: Implement a three-horizon monitoring model to track long-term trends and immediate market shifts, ensuring the organization remains agile and responsive to changes in the competitive landscape
  • Rapid Analysis and Reporting: Publish quarterly “Signals & Implications” briefings for the Executive Leadership Team and conduct rapid analyses in response to market shocks, ensuring timely and informed decision-making
  • Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of innovation and adaptability within the team, promoting the exploration of new ideas and strategies to address the organization’s most pressing challenges

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

  • Cross-Functional Reach: Collaborate with various departments, including Corporate Development, Finance, and Operations, to gain a holistic view of enterprise priorities and drive impactful outcomes across the organization
  • Go-To Thought Partner: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, leveraging expertise in strategy, AI infrastructure, and cloud networking to provide market-backed perspectives and strategic guidance
  • Mentorship and Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of strategists and analysts, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity and rigor to cultivate the next generation of strategic leaders within the organization
