Technical Expertise

  • Deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and analytics engineering.
  • Mastery of SQL and strong familiarity with modern data tools (e.g., dbt, Snowflake, Fivetran, Airflow).

  • Familiarity with visualization and BI platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau).

The annual pay range for this full-time position is $230k-$240k + equity + benefits across all US locations (this position is 100% remote-US). Our pay ranges are guided by discipline, level and experience required. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including: your specific location, desired skills/ technical competency, relevant experience and advanced education/ training. Responsibilities

Lead and Grow the Data Function

  • Define and execute Seed’s data and analytics vision and roadmap, aligning with company-wide priorities.
  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing data team, including analytics engineers, data analysts, and data scientists.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, rigor, and continuous learning.

Enable Data-Driven Decision-Making

  • Partner with Product, Marketing, Science, and Operations to deliver insights that inform growth, product development, and scientific research.
  • Develop and scale robust data models, pipelines, and reporting frameworks to support self-service analytics and experimentation.

Advance Data Strategy and Governance

  • Define and enforce data governance standards to ensure quality, accuracy, and security of data assets.
  • Oversee data architecture decisions, infrastructure investments, and performance optimization.
  • Champion best practices in data privacy, compliance, and ethical use of data.

Drive Business and Scientific Impact

  • Translate complex data into actionable strategies to optimize customer experience, improve retention, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Support scientific teams with data-driven approaches to study design, analysis, and publication.
  • Identify new opportunities for innovation and growth through advanced analytics and data science.
