ROLE SUMMARY
We’re hiring a Senior Director of Engineering to lead at the intersection of product vision, technical strategy, and organizational scale. Reporting directly to the VP of Technology, you’ll oversee a 30+ person engineering org through two Directors (Platform and Application Engineering) and take full ownership of architecture, delivery, and team performance.
This is a mission-critical role. You won’t just “manage” engineering: you’ll shape what we build, how we build it, and how fast we get there. From identity resolution to data governance to in-housing critical technologies, you’ll own cross-functional initiatives that power our growth and differentiation in a fast-evolving ad tech space.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Align engineering strategy and technical roadmaps with business goals and product priorities
- Lead cross-functional execution of key initiatives including identity resolution, data governance, in-housing of core platform capabilities, and so much more.
- Own architectural direction across platform infrastructure, core services, and application engineering, ensuring scalability, availability, and performance
- Guide the design and evolution of high-scale, cloud-native systems (particularly within AWS environments)
- Set and uphold high standards for engineering quality, operational excellence, and code maintainability
- Advocate for and lead foundational architectural investments that support long-term growth and flexibility
- Ensure systems are designed for compliance with privacy and data protection regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
- Partner closely with Product, Commercial, Executive teams to translate business needs into scalable, reliable technical solutions
- Communicate clearly, candidly, and frequently across technical and non-technical stakeholders, surfacing risks and ensuring shared alignment
- Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement across the engineering organization
YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE/ARE
- 10+ years successfully leading high-performing engineering orgs and know how to grow, mentor, and align multiple teams (including Platform Services and Application Software Engineering) through Engineering Directors
- You turn ambitious technical roadmaps into real outcomes. Whether it’s in-housing technology components, extending measurement and attribution systems, or rolling out data governance practices
- You’ve made key architectural calls in cloud-native, high-scale environments (especially on AWS) and know how to design systems that last
- You don’t wait for direction; you anticipate risks, manage ambiguity, and keep teams focused on the why behind the work
- You bring deep ad tech experience to the table. Knowledge of SSPs, DSPs, DMPs, OpenRTB, VAST, and identity resolution are tablestakes
- You translate engineering trade-offs clearly across Product, Commercial, and Executive teams. People trust your judgment because you’re transparent, organized, and solution-oriented
