Responsibilities

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Holds a Power of Attorney for submission of manuals and general coordination with Austro Control as competent Aviation Authority
  • Issues directives, work instructions and guidelines for Instructors and Examiners and the team
  • Decides, implements and issues communication on all aspects of the training program to all flight crew members
  • Participates in the Emergency Response Team
  • Promotes safety in the area of responsibility and manages risks in the area of responsibility
  • Assigns responsibility for maintaining compliance with standards established by the operator and applicable regulatory authorities
  • Determines effective procedures to ensure performance of service
  • Defines processes required for flight crew training
  • Aligns Training documentation for IOSA certification compliance

YOUR TASKS:

In this role you will act as the Nominated Person for Flight Crew Training in accordance with EASA ORO-AOC-135 regulations. Oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of all flight crew training programs in compliance with EASA ORO:AOC.135 and company policies. Ensures that all trainings are conducted to the highest safety and operational standards and is in line with regulatory requirements.

This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the highest standards of flight crew training for our 260 pilots who are based in Leipzig.

  • Overall supervision of crew training and checking activities in the company
  • Defines the training requirements and ensures that the training and equipment fulfil the required specification
  • Develops training content, programs and lesson plans (Ground, SIM and Flight)
  • Develops an annual training plan commensurate with business requirements in liaison with crew planning and relevant internal stakeholders
  • Manages all training personnel and training cost center, ensuring that training is efficient and cost-effective
  • performs or delegates ground, line and simulator training and checks
  • Carries out revision (s) of OM-D
  • Liaises with regulatory authority Austro Control (ACG)
  • Establishes administrative processes to ensure timely filling/ submission of certificates and forms and regulatory compliant document control
  • Manages LMS training and respective administration
  • Appoints crew training and checking personnel in agreements with the Nominated Person Flight Operations
  • Ensures a high level of standardization for all training and checking personnel
  • Establishes and manages contracts with FCT providers and subcontractors
  • Contributes to safety investigations
  • Contributes to risk evaluations and assessments
  • Undertakes the development and implementation of an audit program to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company requirements
  • Evaluates reports and findings
  • Ensures closure of incompliances and / or non-conformities
  • Performs related tasks as directed by the Accountable Manager
  • Ensures alignment of training standards with operational needs, in collaboration with all relevant departments
  • Manages the selection process, qualification and continuous training of flight instructors, examiners and training personnel
  • Monitors the performance and competency of flight crew members through robust training programs, including simulator and classroom training
  • Maintains training records in accordance with regulatory and company standards
  • Liaises with National Aviation Authorities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Acts as a point of contact for regulatory audits and inspections related to Flight Crew Training
