Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Director of Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) to lead and scale our customer-facing engineering organization. This leader will be instrumental in driving delivery of advanced Agentic AI platform & solutions, acting as a key interface between our platform capabilities and complex enterprise use cases.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who thrives at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success. You will build and manage a high-performing team of FDEs, ensuring the successful deployment of real-world solutions that unlock the power of our Agentic AI platform across domains like healthcare, finance, telecom, travel, retail and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and Scale the FDE Function:

Build and manage a high-performing team of full-stack, customer-facing engineers embedded across strategic accounts and verticals.

• Customer-Facing Engineering Leadership:

Serve as the senior technical leader engaging with strategic customers to understand complex business problems and translate them into scalable solutions using our platform.

• Solution Architecture & Delivery Oversight:

Oversee the design and implementation of end-to-end AI solutions—data pipelines, knowledge systems, RAG architectures, SLMs, Agentic workflows and user experiences.

• Platform Extension & Integration:

Guide the team in extending core platform capabilities, building reusable integrations, components, and DIY tooling that accelerate value creation & delivery.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with Sales Engineering, Product Management, Professional Services, and Customer Success to ensure alignment and efficiency across the customer lifecycle.

• Feedback to Platform & Product:

Provide structured feedback to Engineering and Product for roadmap enhancements, deployment tooling needs, and feature gaps identified in the field.

• Playbook & Best Practice Development:

Drive the creation of technical delivery playbooks for AI agents, RAG pipelines, SLMs, and data pipelines to standardize implementation excellence.

• Thought Leadership:

Be a voice for the FDE function internally and externally—showcasing how Agentic AI can solve real enterprise problems with speed and scalability.

Ideal Profile:

• Undergraduate, Master’s or Phd in Computer Science or Data Science
• 12+ years of experience in engineering or solution delivery roles, with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Prior experience leading engineering teams in SaaS, AI, or enterprise software domains is a must.
• Deep expertise in full-stack development, enterprise cloud infrastructure
• Proven success delivering production-grade AI solutions leveraging LLMs, SLMs, RAG, AI Agents and real-time data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Agentic AI concepts, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning of models.
• Ability to think like a product manager, code like a senior engineer, and communicate like a trusted advisor.
• Experience in navigating complex enterprise environments and managing relationships across business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence C-level executives as well as engineering teams.
• Passionate about building a DIY Platform, reusable assets, toolkits, and empowering others through enablement and documentation.

Hiring Range:
$226,100 - $310,900 - for Primary Location of USA - CA - Palo Alto
The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
In addition to competitive base pay, this position also includes an annual incentive opportunity based on target achievement, pre-IPO stock options, benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with a match, and more, plus generous paid time off, paid holidays, paid day off for your birthday and other paid leave policies to support employees through all phases of life.
