Description

This role Interprets and implements complex global accounting and regulatory policies, proposals, and pronouncements. Establishes and governs policies. Analyzes and implements new or evolving accounting standards. Monitors consistent application across entities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Creates formal accounting policies and documentation of business issues. Supports positions taken, and identifies differences between regulatory reporting regulation equivalents. Provides leadership on implementation of ambiguous and complex accounting and reporting policies.
  • Conducts technical accounting research on complex accounting questions and topics. Serves as a thought leader and spokesperson on investment company financial accounting and disclosure issues.
  • Designs changes to policy and establishes efficient, effective accounting policies that are continuously updated and implemented.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert to identify, describe, and resolve complex accounting issues. Interprets existing policies in new situations.
  • Documents, publishes, and effectively communicates new policies.
  • Maintains broad and consistent knowledge of accounting policy and awareness of current industry issues, incorporating changing business needs into support solutions. Monitors upcoming accounting standards and upcoming financial reporting regulations.
  • Maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote understanding and develop and implement appropriate accounting procedures and disclosures to comply with new accounting or regulatory pronouncements. Communicates response plans and manages implementation.
  • Develops and documents practical solutions and accounting and disclosure controls and procedures. Provides leadership and practical guidance to fund accounting and administration teams implementing new requirements. Reviews fund financial statement disclosures.
  • Ensures appropriate controls are in place to support financial statement certification.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 12+ years related work experience, with at least five years in accounting or fund administration.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Finance or Accounting degree preferred.
  • Graduate degree in Accounting preferred.
  • CPA required.
