QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner or similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field; Advance degree preferred
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in managing organizational effectiveness and talent management strategies (including performance management, employee development, and succession planning)
  • Expertise in leading and implementing company-wide change management initiatives
  • Proven ability to build relationships and effectively influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Displays critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze HR metrics and translate insights into actionable strategies
  • Ability to develop strategies to improve employee engagement, morale, and satisfaction
  • In-depth understanding of HR legislation, employment law, principles, policies, and procedures
  • Skilled at engaging appropriate stakeholders at the right time to ensure buy-in and appropriately balancing enterprise needs with those of the business unit
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including clear and concise written and verbal communication
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Senior HR Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor to Senior business leaders in matters related to organizational and people matters and contributes to enhancing customer service, organizational efficiency, and associate engagement. This role plays a key part in aligning HR strategies with AvalonBay’s strategic business objectives by focusing on effective practices related to talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, compliance, change management, and engagement activities.
We are seeking a partner to support the financial services group including Capital Markets, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, Corporate Accounting, Investor Relations, Internal Audit, Risk Management and our Centralized Customer Service Center.
