PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS, WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with others, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
  • Predominantly operates in an office environment. Some periods of time may be spent in computer room and communications equipment spaces for installation, testing, and troubleshooting. Some work (less than 5%) requires moving and lifting of heavy networking equipment.
  • This is an essential position supporting clinical laboratory operations requiring attendance on weekends, holidays, and during emergency conditions, such as inclement weather and power failure.
  • This position requires the ability to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • This position is a full-time, in-person position in Boulder, CO.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Director, Information Technology provides strategic leadership for our technology ecosystem within a highly regulated life sciences environment. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this position will oversee both Enterprise IT Operations and Information Systems Security Operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the organization’s IT function, ensuring alignment with business objectives in a regulated life sciences environment.
  • Drive IT operational efficiencies, SOP, and continuous improvement to meet the organization’s compliance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FDA cybersecurity guidance on medical devices, and EU MDR) through proactive IT governance.
  • Lead and ensure audit readiness including participation with other departments for several requirements.
  • Lead IT planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, balancing innovation with operational stability.
  • Establish and maintain strong IT service delivery processes, including user support, incident management, change control, and system validation.
  • Partner with scientific and operational leaders to deliver technology solutions that enable research, clinical trials, and manufacturing.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee performance of IT service providers and technology partners.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption, data analytics platforms, and automation.
  • Lead network infrastructure design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise class network and connectivity including high bandwidth requirements.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, growth, accountability, and security awareness.
