Information Technology Services works closely with CIO to align infrastructure initiatives with the university’s overall IT and business strategy. Provides updates on infrastructure performance, budgeting, and project status. Collaborates with other IT leaders to ensure infrastructure supports application development, end-user-devices, audio visual, cybersecurity, and operational goals, working together on cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives. Builds partnerships with business leaders to understand their infrastructure needs and provide technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business growth. Leads and manages the infrastructure team, ensuring their work aligns with University’s priorities, involving mentoring, performance reviews, and collaboration on technical challenges.
The Senior Director, Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, structure, performance, people and service management of SFU’s Central IT Infrastructure Services Unit. The role is responsible for providing strategic, operational, tactical and administrative leadership for the delivery of IT infrastructure to the university community. The role leads modernization and delivery of enterprise systems, including Data Centre services, telephony and network services, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and highly resilient. Develops strategies, plans and policies to drive strategic initiatives that support the achievement of the University and enterprise system goals. The role acts as a strategic advisor to the CIO by collaborating with and having a broad understanding of the University infrastructure environments. Collaborates with ITS and SFU leadership and departments to build commitment towards mutually dependent goals and to ensure ITS responsibilities, strategies, goals and projects are realized.
